Uses For Vinegar

Our grandmothers knew how to utilize this precious gift, but due to convenience of cleaners, salad dressings & more, vinegar is just some smelly thing we typically never buy.
~Please make sure you always use WHITE DISTILLED VINEGAR even if not mentioned as White in the post~

General House Cleaner: Mix 1 part White vinegar 1 part water in spray bottle and you have naturally disinfected!

Stainless Steel Pots & pans or white coated plastic utensils, soak in 1 cup of vinegar with hot soapy water -make sure all are covered over night

Dirty Coffee Pot? Pour vinegar up to the 3 cup, rest with water let soak for 30 minutes and watch what you have been drinking….gross!

Don’t use bleach on your cutting boards, pour or spray straight vinegar on it

In need of “jet dry”? just use white vinegar!

Onion or garlic smell on your hands? Clean em with white vinegar!

Keep your sponges from that mildew smell by rinsing and soaking in vinegar overnight!

Keep that microwave nice and clean with 1/4 c of white vinegar, & 1 c of water in a glass bowl, microwave on high for 3-5 minutes and wipe down!

NATURALLY CLEAN YOUR FRUITS AND VEGGIES by soaking them in 1 part white vinegar & 1 part cold water

Hard water spots? soak your dish rag in white vinegar and set on top of those spots for 5-10 minutes and wabam!

Do you reuse your water bottles? swish some white vinegar around and it will naturally kill bacterial

Natural glass, Shower & generic bathroom cleaner: 3 parts vinegar, 1 part water, 4-5 drops of dawn dish liquid. (warm up the vinegar to hot but not boiling) -Because it is 3 to 1 parts, the vinegar smell can be overwhelming, so do in sections :)

Have a drain that constantly gives you trouble? Pour about 1 cup of straight white vinegar, let sit for about 3-5 minutes, go back and sprinkle baking soda till a nice foam starts, let sit for about 10 minutes and flush! -this also works great for just general cleaning.

Do your towels smell in the summer from the horrible “mildew smell”? wash those puppies (the towels, sure don’t want someone to say I told them to wash their puppy in vinegar) with 1/2 c of vinegar in the cycle and 1/2 c in the rinse cycle

Have a carpet cleaner? Clean your carpets as directed but go through one more time with vinegar, it will remove the soap residue that makes your carpets get dirty as fast!

Mini Blind dust? Soak in a tub with HOT soapy (dawn works best) with 2 cups of vinegar, let soak for about 1 hour, clean as normal and rinse, they will look brand new again -unless you have a dog like I do and have one corner missing :)

Children toys including high chair, walker and bed spray with straight vinegar, no need to even rinse! (please make sure not to spray near the children, straight vinegar is “fuemy”

Clean your toothbrush, comb or hairbrush with vinegar. Warm the vinegar with 2 parts warm vinegar, 1 part water and let it soak in a glass or bowl for 10 minutes. ~the vinegar with disinfect your toothbrush. It will also remove hairspray residue from your comb, pick or hairbrush
